DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems
Repairing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and air brake systems
Testing and repairing vehicle lighting and electrical systems
Performing preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and H/D equipment
Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
Maintaining parts inventory and ensuring the cleanliness of the shop
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or 5 years’ experience as Technician
Valid Driver’s License-CDL or willing to get a CDL
ASE Diesel Certification advantageous
Aptitude for mathematics and science
Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
Good IT and diagnostic skills
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools
Able to work well in a team environment
Attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal communication skills and good organizational skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
Able to work outdoors in all seasons and work at heights.
Most work performed in air-conditioned shop
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able climb ladders and stairs and lift up to 100lbs
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and depth perception.
