Marquis Commends Release of the USDA Regenerative Ag Rule

Marquis commends the Trump Administration for the release of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) final rule on regenerative agriculture practices and for President Trump’s  Executive Order prioritizing work on regenerative agriculture to support American farmers and US agriculture.  We thank President Trump and Secretary Rollins, the Administration, and the entire team at USDA for their leadership and tireless work on this project that will support the farmers we work with every day at Marquis.  

These actions put farmers first and advance policies that support long-term profitability, build new market opportunities,  improve soil health, and lower input costs through innovative regenerative agriculture practices. For years, farmers have invested in practices that make their operations more efficient and sustainable. USDA’s final regenerative agriculture rule brings producers one step closer to receiving the recognition they deserve under the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Tax Credit for those investments, while enabling and supporting additional investments in America’s farms.

There is still important work ahead. We look forward to the Department of Energy moving quickly to incorporate this new tool into the 45Z GREET model, and the Treasury Department finalizing their regulations to incorporate this new calculator as an input into the 45ZCF-GREET model, as they indicated in the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for 45Z in February of this year.  

America’s farmers are ready. Today, the Trump Administration and USDA have shown how America’s farmers will continue to lead through innovation with investment into resilient and regenerative soils for generations to come.
